Sick Visits Q&A

When should you call to schedule a sick visit?

At Naples Pediatrics, we keep same-day appointments available just for sick children, but please call us as soon as you suspect your child may need a sick visit. When you call early in the day, we can get your child in as soon as possible.

What children’s conditions are treated during a sick visit?

A sick visit is intended to treat numerous, diverse illnesses and injuries that need immediate or same-day attention. Children’s symptoms often change quickly, so we’re here to help. During phone triage, we’ll ask pertinent questions, evaluate symptoms, and determine your child’s medical needs.

These are some of the most common conditions we treat during sick-child visits:

  • Fevers
  • Flu
  • Upper respiratory infections
  • Headaches
  • Sore throat or strep throat
  • Congestion
  • Coughs
  • Abdominal pain

  • Rashes
  • Eye discharge or infection
  • Earaches
  • Vomiting or diarrhea
  • Minor injuries and emergencies from lacerations or falls

  • Older than three months with a fever that lasts three days or rises above 104℉
  • Fever accompanied by rash

When should you use the Naples Pediatrics urgent care clinic?

Naples Pediatrics operates an urgent care clinic for those times when your child needs same-day care but regular office hours are over for the day. You can count on quality treatment by qualified pediatricians while avoiding a trip to the emergency department.

Our urgent care clinic treats all of the same health problems you’d expect during regular office hours, and you don’t have to schedule an appointment: Just walk into the clinic when your child needs medical attention.
